Sometimes I am overcome with an envy for those people who are intensely sincere, who "put it all out there" and bare their souls.
I have recently come to realize that what I envy is their bravery and courage to be themselves unapologeticly, and take the risks of being shunned for their true faces.
I have vowed to be more authentic, the blog about it is here:

Sorry, you'll have to cut and paste it won't let me format it in....

And although it's a huge leap, I've found I am enjoying it. I've even recently braved putting my face on my blog. After having this blog for over 2 years, I finally feel brave enough to do such a little thing.

I feel you. Bravery and envy are difficult. Best to be those things you envy, as best as you can.

I have Lauryn Hill's unplugged CD, and the raw emotion she emits is brave.
People were like, "Oh, she had a breakdown during that performance" when in actuality, she was just emoting and letting go all of that baggage she accumulated during her "Miseducation" days.

I tend to be honest about who I am, and I make no apologies for it... you keep doing the same, with your middle finger in the air!

i think what they call a 'breakdown' makes the song the even more beautiful, moving and touching. it is that she lives it 100% in this moment, it is so pure and so genuine that it seems so natural to me that the insight she won and put into that song is indeed something that can make you cry in this very positive sense....

ah i love you !!! i think i do
